Highlights from Miss D’s Week

Music.  This kid is always making up songs.  So this weekend she sat down to “compose” for the first time, singing and sketching out her version of notes as she went.

Momentous math moment.  She got “counting on” as an addition strategy!

History.  We finished Little House in the Big Woods – a hit! – to cap off all the D’Aulaire books and some other biographies as a quick intro to American history.  Maybe onto some California history through literature before prehistory?

Science. Ua found a lizard skin in the yard, and it’s now mounted with glue on some construction paper in the garage.  Lots of curiosity about skin and differences between how reptiles and people shed it.

Just for Fun.  Green eggs and ham on Dr. Seuss’ birthday.
